Finally an Update on the Hornet!

Well, it has been way too long since I have updated this blog. We ran into some issues that really slowed us down. Since my last update, the powder coating company went out of business and we spent about a month trying to get back the load of parts that he never finished. The person doing the body work in LA had life get in the way of working on the car, so it sat for months.

So, after making very little progress for months, the car was moved from Los Angeles to my dad's garage in San Luis Obispo. An old friend of my dad's had some extra time so he has been helping with the body work and prepping for paint. Mark really seems to know what he is doing and in just a few days replaced the floor boards, fixed the rusted out rocker panels, did some frame repairs, and finished priming the car. Here is the repaired floor boards:

And here is the passenger side rocker during repair:

They painted the frame and under the car last week, and this week have been priming and sanding with plans to paint Monday and Tuesday of next week.

Due to some serious space limitations, once the front clip of the car was painted, the front and rear suspension was put back on the car. Here is a picture of the front suspension back on the car:

We found a new powder coating company in SLO that was able to match the coronation cream color for the wheels:

Well, that is all the time I have to update for now. Hopefully next week the car will be painted!
